DeFi staking is conceptually simple — deposit tokens, earn yield — but the execution is full of complexity that scares off mainstream users. Lock periods, variable APYs, slashing risks, and gas costs create a wall of friction.
YieldNest needed an interface that made staking genuinely accessible to non-crypto-native users while retaining the depth and control that experienced DeFi users expect.
I designed a progressive staking interface with two distinct experience layers:
The key insight was that these shouldn't be separate products — they should be the same interface with progressive disclosure. Start simple, reveal depth on demand.
APY transparency was designed with risk context, not just headline numbers. Users see projected yield alongside risk factors — because a 40% APY means nothing if you don't understand what you're risking to get it.
The onboarding funnel was ruthlessly simplified: connect wallet → choose amount → confirm. Every additional step was cut or deferred to post-stake education.
Shipped a production staking app handling real assets. The progressive approach achieved clean onboarding with minimal drop-off between wallet connection and first stake, while power users reported the analytics depth they needed for serious position management.
I'm available for product design roles and contract work in DeFi, Web3, and fintech.
